Educate about/on - WordReference Forums
Is it, "I like educating people about my culture" or "I like educating people on my culture." When is it appropriate to use one over the other? Thank you. You have given no context. We cannot know what, exactly the speaker means. If we take the default meaning then neither sound idiomatic.

Apparently saying "I will educate you" can seem rude. Why?
It's because "educate" has an institutional connotation. If you (in a non-institutional setting) tell someone you will "educate them" it comes off as patronizing because you're setting yourself up as an expert and your interlocuters as ignorant students. It's much better to say "I will explain it" because we use "explain" for most contexts.
