Edit: also on both devices, under settings>messages there's an option for "low quality image mode". Its default off but maybe it's on. If "the grain moves and changes as you zoom in", it might be moiree. Hey guys, so I shoot film photography and my photos tend to send extra grainy over iMessage. It’s really frustrating.

Mon Apr 27, 2020 7:56 am. Hi. I've just finished a 1 minute film shot on the BMPCC4k but on a 1080 timeline, and its got lots of grain as I was going for that style. It looks awful on Youtube, the grain is barely noticeable, it just looks bad quality! Link at the bottom of this post...very noticeable on the shot at 15 seconds of swimming.

BMPCC 6K Raw footage very noisy. I find that whenever I surpass ISO 200, the image starts to get a lot of noise in shadow area. This is very apparent when I look at my false color on set, there are grainy dots jumping around even at Light Green false color. I'm shooting with 24-105mm Canon lens at f4.0, with two Aputure 300X lighting the subject.

I shoot 1080 50fps footage at 35Mbps and would not render at less than this. A low bitrate will introduce artifacts in h264 material. When rendering try setting the bitrate using the Restrict To setting.
