Python Slicing – How to Slice an Array and What Does [::-1] Mean?
Here, we specify a start of index 2, no end, and a step of -1. Slicing here will start from index 2 which is 3. The negative steps mean the next value in the slice will be at an index smaller than the previous index by 1. This means 2 - 1 which is 1 so the value at this index, which is 2 will be added to the slice.

Python String question: What does [::-1] mean? - Sololearn
If you leave slots empty, there's a default. [:] means: The whole thing. [::1] means: Start at the beginning, end when it ends, walk in steps of 1 (which is the default, so you don't even need to write it). [::-1] means: Start at the end (the minus does that for you), end when nothing's left and walk backwards by 1.

What Does :: Mean in Python? Operator Meaning for Double Colon
4 => index 1 6 => index 2 8 => index 3 10 => index 4 12 => index 5. Using the stop parameter, you get all the elements in list that come before the specified index. Index 2 in the list is 6. The elements that come before it are 2 and 4 so they get printed out: [2, 4]. The other elements are "sliced off". Python Double Colon Example #3

What is the meaning of "int(a[::-1])" in Python? - Stack Overflow
To get the same result , you cannot fill out all three, you can put <start> as len(a)-1, but there is no <stop> index you can put to get the first element. Example - a[len(a)-1::-1].This is because <stop> index is exclusive, that is the element at that index is not taken in, also -1 means the last element , so there is no index that can be used to include the first element , other than leaving ...

A Python list can have many elements, and refer to a particular element among hundreds of elements present in them, indexing is used. Indexing in Python is a way to refer to individual items by their position within a list. In Python, objects are “zero-indexed”, which means that position counting starts at zero, 5 elements exist in the list, then the first element (i.e. the leftmost ...
