How do I convert a Pandas series or index to a NumPy array?
From v0.24.0 onwards, we will have two brand spanking new, preferred methods for obtaining NumPy arrays from Index, Series, and DataFrame objects: they are to_numpy(), and .array. Regarding usage, the docs mention: We haven’t removed or deprecated Series.values or DataFrame.values, but we highly recommend and using .array or .to_numpy() instead.

Indexing on ndarrays — NumPy v2.2 Manual
An integer, i, returns the same values as i:i+1 except the dimensionality of the returned object is reduced by 1. In particular, a selection tuple with the p-th element an integer (and all other entries :) returns the corresponding sub-array with dimension N - 1.If N = 1 then the returned object is an array scalar. These objects are explained in Scalars.

Advanced Indexing - Python Like You Mean It
Converting a Boolean Index-Array to Integer Index-Arrays: numpy.where The function numpy.where can be used to take a boolean-valued array, and produce the tuple of index-arrays that access the True entries of that array, via integer array indexing (discussed at the beginning of this section).

pandas.Index.to_numpy — pandas 2.1.3 documentation
Notes. The returned array will be the same up to equality (values equal in self will be equal in the returned array; likewise for values that are not equal). When self contains an ExtensionArray, the dtype may be different. For example, for a category-dtype Series, to_numpy() will return a NumPy array and the categorical dtype will be lost. For NumPy dtypes, this will be a reference to the ...

How to Fix: only integer scalar arrays can be converted to a scalar index
To avoid this error, we must first convert the list to a NumPy array by using np.array() as follows: import numpy as np #create a list of values data = [3, 5, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14] #choose 3 random values from list random_values = np. random. choice (range(len(data)), size= 2) #attempt to use indexing to access elements in list random_vals = np ...

5 Best Ways to Convert a NumPy Array to a Pandas Series
This snippet replaces the data in an existing Pandas Series with data from a NumPy array. The Series index is unchanged, but the values are updated. ... When converting a NumPy array to a Pandas Series, you can also specify a custom index using the index parameter. This can be beneficial for aligning data with an existing index or setting a ...

Create a Pandas DataFrame from a Numpy array and specify the index ...
Output: Example 3: In this example, the index column and column headers are defined before converting the Numpy array into Pandas dataframe. The label names are again generated through iterations but the method is little different. Here, the number of iterations is defined by the length of the sub-array inside the Numpy array.

Convert between pandas DataFrame/Series and NumPy array
Convert NumPy arrays to DataFrame and Series. To convert a NumPy array (ndarray) to a DataFrame or Series, use their constructors. The ndarray can be specified in the first argument of the constructor. pd.DataFrame() The pd.DataFrame() constructor can create a DataFrame by specifying an ndarray in the first argument.

python - Creating a Pandas DataFrame from a Numpy array: How do I ...
1. Dtypes need to be recast. The problem with the original array is that it mixes strings with numbers, so the dtype of the array is either object or str which is not optimal for the dataframe. That can be remedied by calling astype at the end of dataframe construction.. df = pd.DataFrame(data[1:, 1:], index=data[1:, 0], columns=data[0, 1:]).astype(int)
