BetaUsed to be pinpoint but transitioned to platform for about two years now. With pinpoint I got a little more pace on my serve but it was very inconsistent. Platform keeps your base stationary which I've found has improved my ball placement and consistency drastically. It wasn't an easy switch but do what works for you.

BetaI use platform for the first serve, pinpoint for the second. Easier to aim a flat serve with the simpler platform stance. With a kick serve accuracy isn't too important--using the pinpoint stance exploding into the brushup produces heavy topspin which keeps the ball in play while generating a high bounce and heavy ball.

BetaI’m 170cm/5 foot 7, so is one stance better for smaller players? I read that you could hit the ball a little bit higher with the pinpoint serve. (I know that diego swartzmann uses the pinpoint stance.) I use the platform stance in matches. My platform stance is with my feet quite close to each other, a little more closer than half of a big step.
