Quest 2 on pcvr looking grainy as. Today I hooked up my quest 2 to my new pc for the first time, and everything was going well. My pc can run vr getting all green in the pcvr test. I purchased half life alyx and downloaded it as that was the game I was most looking forward to playing. When I started playing I noticed everything looked grainy.

Seconding this, this is likely DLSS. DLSS will actively try to lower the image quality of game assets to achieve a target framerate. If you haven’t updated your graphics driver within, say, the past month or so, try updating it now.

2#. First up your dimensions are wrong. A raw image should be 5464x3640 zoomed in that far will show some pixelation. Second there is no reason to be shooting with the settings you are using. Lower your iso to 100 and reduce your shutter speed. you should try to use full f-stops. Fulls are 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8 and 11.

The Quest 2 wasn't built as a mixed reality/AR headset, the cameras are only there for tracking. The ability to view the camera feed for passthrough is just an add-on for safety and experimental features. If you want actual reality to look like reality, take off the fucking oculus.

The noise effect doesn't become more intense near enemies in Silent Hill 2. It can vary in Silent Hill 3 & 4 though. You can only turn it off once you beat the game on any difficulty. It's original purpose was too hide low-res textures and aliasing. You can use patch files with the emulator to remove the film grain.
