Go to settings, Graphics and select Quality. In the settings there will be „Render resolution”, set it to the expansion of your screen and lower the sharpening. If your GPU supports upscaling, you can choose DLSS, FSR and others there. Sometimes this setting crashes. I had to constantly manually set DLSS in the story campaign… every time lol.

Even without DLSS the image is very bad and looks like it got a bad film grain filter. I have tried every setting in option to resolve the image quality but nothing fixes it.

Alan Wake 2 performance thread. RTX 3080 ti here. Intro area I get 15-18fps maxed out at 1920p, RT/PT on max with DLSS on Quality. 20fps on Balanced. 1440p I get 25-30fps on Quality. With RT/PT off, I get ~35-40fps at 1920p. 1440p (my native resolution) gets me ~50fps. All using Quality DLSS except where I specified using Balanced.

Alan Wake 2 problems with grain. Hi. For the start, I have tried native fsr, native and txaa (forced via ini file), disabled grain, lens distortion, depth of field, and vignette effects. For unknown reasons reflection in this game are pixelated, doty, grained. Other users say they don't have it, so I guess it's AMD driver issue.

Every single game from that nonsense that isnt a comic book game has horrific peformance and even worse graphics with intense vaesline smears all over the screen. Doesn't take a 4090 to run it. I run it in all high on a 3080 and could probably go higher, just don't care to. Game stays at 60 fps.

It has to be done well and with purpose. Maybe because quite a lot of games just slap on a film grain filter, it doesn't seem worth it.
