This study draws on Systemic Functional Linguistic (SFL) theory. The data for the study consisted of five randomly selected topics from Jakarta Post press, a daily English language in Indonesia. The data were gathered through a library study. These data were qualitatively analzed using Halliday (1994) and Halliday & Matthiessen (2014) theory.
